Anniversary is considered as the most auspicious day in a couple’s life. To make this day all the more auspicious, a five carat diamond ring is an absolute necessity, which would work the magic. The three common marks for the tradition in wedding anniversaries would be the 25th year which is the Silver Anniversary, the 50th year which is the gold (Golden) anniversary, and of course the 60th year which is the Diamond Anniversary. So as you can see, if you stick with tradition on this part, it either has to be silver, gold, or diamond; and that will largely depend on the years you’ve been married.

I for one think that there should be a balance between all of these things. It is hard to stay that we should just allow ourselves to forget about traditions and go with the flow, because in a sense we can end up missing out on some great values that tradition has taught us. On the other hand, it wouldn’t be too wise to be so stubborn on sticking with tradition, that we miss out on the new things we can enjoy in life and see how it takes us.
